Potentially Severe Early Sunday

The Storm Prediction Center is talking about issuing a severe thunderstorm watch for our area.  Very strong thunderstorms have developed this morning on the Kansas side.  From now through 10 AM, possibly a few hours longer, storms will travel from the West to the East.  Heavy rain, small hail and potentially damaging winds will be the biggest issues.  After 12 PM, we’ll enter a dry stretch before the atmosphere recharges by evening.  Today’s steamy high will be 87°.  By 9 PM, storms will enter NE Kansas and NW Missouri.  These storms could also potentially produce flooding rains and damaging winds.

By dawn on Monday, the storms should be out of here.  Monday looks quiet and partly cloudy with highs in the lower 90s.  Tuesday will be a sizzlin’ day at 94°.  Then Tuesday night through Friday, isolated storms will be back.  With these storms comes cooler temperatures.  We’ll fall into the 80s from Wednesday through next weekend.  Saturday and Sunday look dry right now with highs in the upper 80s.

Have a great one!

Take care,
Lisa
