Another warm one today with highs in the lower 50’s with a mixture of sun and clouds. Even hotter on Monday with highs in the middle 60’s…Monday will come close to our record of 68°.

Slight chance for a few showers in Missouri on Tuesday with temps in the upper 50’s.

Mild weather lingers Wednesday and Thursday in the 50’s. A storm Thursday and Friday…models pick up on this storm. But, the timing is different and will need to be watched. Rain first on Thursday then becoming snow by Friday morning. After this storm passes, temps will fall back to the 40’s for highs.

Mostly sunny with temps above the norm in the middle 40’s. A few clouds on Sunday with temps remaining just as mild.

Monday and Tuesday – a surge of warmer air in the 50’s. Some folks will be able to hit the lower 60’s during this time, especially SW of the metro. A sprinkle or light rain shower is possible on Tuesday. Temps fall slightly into the lower 50’s Wednesday/Thursday.

Thursday night into Friday, a small impulse swings through bringing a chance for sprinkles/flakes. Highs will then fall into the 40’s.

Clouds around this morning leading to a partly cloudy afternoon. Highs will be above the norm in the lower 40’s. For Tuesday, clouds will thicken by late afternoon due to the next approaching storm system. Highs will be slightly warmer in the upper 40’s.

By Wednesday, that storm system will track to our South. We do have a slight chance for a few showers on Wednesday. Temperatures will remain in the 40’s.

Winds pick up overnight as temperatures slowly climb. It will remain breezy on Sunday at 15-20 MPH. Clouds will dominate with drizzle and spotty showers by afternoon – temps warm into the lower 50’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if some places inch closer to 60°. By Monday, this system is gone and cooler sunshine returns with highs in the lower 40’s.

The storm system we were previously tracking for Tuesday/Wednesday looks to stay far enough to our South that it will only impact our weather with clouds. Highs during this time will be in the middle 40’s and lower 50’s.

Temps fall to the 40’s Friday and Saturday with more clouds than sunshine.

Mist will taper by midnight outside of the metro to the South. This has created black ice in parts of Linn County, Kansas; Bates /Henry/Benton/Hickory/St. Clair Counties in Missouri. A bitter chill overnight with lows in the single digits and lower teens.

Sunshine is back for Saturday. Highs will stay chilly in the lower 30’s. On Sunday, partly to mostly cloudy with a chance for drips by evening – sleet will also mix in as colder air arrives. Highs on Sunday will be rather warm for this time of year in the lower 50’s.

Monday will serve as a break between systems – partly cloudy with highs in the lower 40’s. Cloud will thicken by Tuesday evening with a few rain showers. By Wednesday, rain and some flakes are possible. We’ll have to watch the track of this system closely. One model keeps it far enough to the south that we see nothing – another models brings it farther North allowing us to get some precip. Highs will be in the lower 40’s and overnight lows in the 20’s.

Highs remain above average Thursday into Friday with dry skies.

Clouds crowding into Monday with winds easing. Temperatures will be a touch cooler tomorrow, but still way above average! By evening, a spotty shower is possible until the colder air arrives. Monday night, Arctic air drops us back to the teens for lows. With this frontal passage, some light snow will be possible. Locations in best alignment for flakes will be North of I-70, especially on the Missouri side. Little to no accumulation expected. The majority of this next system stays across Nebraska/Iowa/NE Missouri (including Kirksville) where snowfall accumulations are likely.

The bigger story will be the cold. By Tuesday, highs won’t get out of the 20’s. Clouds will slowly decrease.

A warmer shift by Wednesday through next weekend. Thirties on Wednesday with fifties by Friday. Clouds return by the weekend with a small chance for a brief passing shower.

Mostly sunny and unseasonably warm on Sunday. Winds will be rather strong, but warmer air will be pumped in to warm us to the middle and upper 50’s. I wouldn’t be surprised if some spots on the Kansas side get into the lower 60’s.

Clouds crowd on Monday. Sprinkles/rain shower possible, especially by Monday evening. Temperatures will remain mild in the lower 50’s. Slight chance for a few flakes Monday night into Tuesday morning…no accumulation expected.

Much colder by Tuesday in the upper 20’s. We quickly bounce back to the upper 30’s and middle 40’s on Wednesday and Thursday. Fifties are back by Friday and Saturday.

A weak impulse is traveling through Nebraska and Iowa tonight. Thanks to this system, clouds will increase and there is a slight chance for a few flakes on the Missouri side, North of 36 Highway.

For the weekend, temperatures are warming back up! Partly cloudy to mostly sunny on Saturday with temps in the middle 40’s. On Sunday, even warmer! Temperatures will be in the middle 50’s, but I can see some locations hitting the lower 60’s.

By Monday, a slight chance for a rain shower with temps in the 50’s. Clouds will keep our temperatures down just a touch from Sunday’s high. Monday night, arctic air crashes through our area, dropping us into the 20’s for highs on Tuesday. Monday night, a few flakes are possible. Model runs today have generated less snow than previous runs or completely removed the opportunity. Going from such warm temperatures one day and into the next, the atmosphere will squeeze out some flakes. Amounts right now look light.

After this cold blast, temperatures moderate to the 30’s and 40’s for highs.

Clouds will slowly clear overnight with temperatures falling into the single digits! Bitterly cold at morning bus stops with wind chills near zero. Sunshine returns on Friday, but with the northwesterly winds, we will struggle to warm into the lower 30’s. We still won’t get to freezing yet.

Partly sunny on Saturday as a system slides to our northeast. Temperatures will warm into the 40’s with near 50° on Sunday.

A few rain showers are possible Monday evening…the majority of this storm will form to our East and most of us will remain dry. However, it’s the cold front by Tuesday morning that will squeeze out some flakes. It’s fast moving with not much moisture, but will need to be monitored through the weekend. Temperatures will fall from the 50’s on Monday to the 30’s by next Tuesday.

Clouds hang around through Sunday – filtered sunshine at best. Temperatures will be chilly tonight in the lower 30’s with a bounce to near 50° tomorrow.

Storm system right now over Colorado (producing snow for them) will shift southeast through Texas. As it takes this southern track, clouds will briefly disappear on Monday with highs in the lower 50’s. But, clouds return Tuesday and Wednesday with a chance for rain showers. Models today shift the storm farther North, closer to us, than previous runs from the last couple of days.

Once the system clears, highs will be in the 30’s with lows in the teens. Temps turn warmer next weekend in the 40’s.
